3 June 2013, Crowdfunding: Untapping its potential, reducing the risks, Brussels

Crowdfunding in Europe: What drives its growth and what are the obstacles to it? Can it help to fill the financing gap for small firms and start-ups? How do philanthropic, artistic and social projects use crowdfunding? What are the opportunities and risks in product pre-sales? How do peer-to-peer lending and equity-based crowd investment perform; what are their advantages and pitfalls? How to ensure the integrity of these models of crowdfunding and protect contributors? The European Commission, DG Internal Market and Services organised a workshop to explore these issues and more related to crowdfunding. The European Crowdfunding Network was present with a number of panel speakers and members in the audience. You can watch the full conference recording here or download the minutes here
